Hybridized by Holger Hachmann, 2009, originated from a new group of azalea called R. x mixtum by the breeder.
In 10 years grows up to 1 m high and across.
Displays delicately fragrant red flowers up to 6.6 cm across, held in rounded trusses up to 14 cm across, resembling in shape those of a characteristic cultivar of ‘Homebush’, its flowers are full thanks to the transformed stamens which make additional petals.
Totally cold hardy.
