Rhododendron mollis ARIMA

Hybridized by Dr. K.-H. Hübbers, German grower, 1994, registered in 2008; ‘Washington State Centennial’ and ‘Arouca’ hybrid (‘Stagecoach Frills’ x ‘Twilight Sky’).

Grows slowly, in 10 years up to 80 cm high and 70 cm across.

Displays fragrant white flowers, up to 5 cm long and 6 cm across, with golden cream petal margins and a big yellow orange blotch on the upper petal, their stamens are pink with a pinkish red star in throat, they turn pinkish yellow on the outside, close to the ovary, and are held in trusses of 14.

Extremely resistant to powdery mildew.

Totally cold hardy.
