Boasts pointed lanceolate light-green foliage turning purple-hued in autumn.
Displays flowers exceptionally clear red in colour (without orange shades, characteristic of many other red azalea cultivars), its light stamens juxtapose in the background of dark petals; flowers at the end of May and the beginning of June.
Totally cold hardy.
